A sudden thunderstorm ruins Felix's picnic. There are also dancing flowers, hopping bears and flute-playing rabbits. A boring, slow-moving cartoon.

Woos Whoopee (1928) *****

This surrealistic masterpiece is Felix the Cat's finest film and a superb example of the "American Graphic" style of design. Party animal Felix, returning drunk from the Whoopee Club, imagines every object as a blood-thirsty wild beast.

Comicalamities (1928) ****

Felix's demanding girlfriend sends him in search of pearls and furs. Tired of fighting with sea monsters, Felix finally grabs the cartoon girl and tears her up. Certain modernist gags from this film were a clear inspiration for Chuck Jones' masterpiece, "Duck Amuck" (1953). Directed by Otto Messmer.

Futuritzy (1928) **

Felix wants to find out about his future, but neither a Gypsy fortune teller nor an eminent astrologist, manage to make correct predictions.

The Non-Stop Fright (1927) ***

Felix builds a plane and flies to Timbuctoo. Imaginative cartoon with plenty of chases.

After many complications (involving shoes and bubble gums), Felix finally comes to Hollywood and tries to imitate Charlie Chaplin. Fast paced, very inventive cartoon directed by Otto Messmer.
