Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011) ****

The last instalment in the ''Harry Potter'' saga. Dark, apocalyptic, somber, frightening and very fast-paced (unlike several recent episodes). Closer in sprit to the ''Lord Of The Rings'' trilogy than to the first ''Harry Potter'' films, but quite impressive. Ralph Fiennes steals the movie as Voldemort.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010) ***

The seventh (and penultimate) instalment of the Harry Potter saga. Way better than "Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire" (2005), about as good as "Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone" (2001), "Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix" (2007) and "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince" (2009), but much weaker than "Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets" (2002) or "Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban" (2004). It's also the sexiest episode to date, with a blurry, but steamy love scene involving Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.

Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince (2009) ****

Even better than the previous instalment ("Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix"), though nowhere near as good as "Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban", which it superficially resembles by its dark tone and somber mood. The real star of this, sixth, episode is the Hogwarts College itself, with its dark, empty corridors whose art designs have been inspired by Gothic interiors of the most beautiful churches and monasteries in England.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix (2007) ***

The fifth ''Harry Potter'' film. Quite good.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (2005) ***

It has a few big-budget action scenes, some fearsome dragons and a flying stagecoach, but it is the weakest of all Harry Potter films. Directed by Mike Newell.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban (2004) *****

By far the best Harry Potter movie ever made, and a genuine masterpiece of the fantasy genre. It's much darker than other installements, with truly amazing cinematography, but what really sets it apart from the others is the incredibly story - as flawless (and daring) an example of bold narrative deconstruction as has ever been attempted in a mainstream Hollywood movie. Superbly directed by Alphonso Cuaron, it's a cinematic and dramatic triumph in every respect.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (2002) ****

Excellent and very entertaining Harry Potter movie, with fearsome snakes and memorable ghosts.

Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone (2001) ***

The first Harry Potter film is an appetizing hint of the glories to come ("Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets" and especially "Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban").
