One Night In Miami (2020) **

It's not a very good film, but it's not a bad movie neither. An average, middle-of-the-road drama about four famous African-Americans meeting together in Miami in February 1964. It does contain, however, one jaw-dropping scene near the beginning of the film, involving an old Southern plantation owner (played by Beau Bridges). The scene is factual (unlike the rest of the film, which is mostly fiction), it's taken from Jim Brown's autobiography, but it is absolutely unbelievable, a merciless clash of genuine Southern hospitality and genuine Southern racism.

Woke documentary about the impact of incarceration on one particular family. Visually impressive, but very depressing.

Crip Camp (2020) **

The first half of this documentary is about a hippie summer camp for the handicapped. The second half is about political protests. An uneven film that starts well, but becomes quite conventional and preachy. Produced by Barack and Michelle Obama.

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020) *

Dreadful comedy with a few funny gags about abortion and Justin Trudeau, but otherwise extremely disappointing. The Rudy Giuliani scene is highly embarrassing to him, but curiously unfunny (unlike a similar, but hilarious, scene involving Ron Paul in "Bruno")

The Prom (2020) *

Dreadful musical that tries to poke fun at clueless liberal Broadway celebrities and homophobic Indiana townfolks who try to prevent a lesbian student from bringing a same-sex date to the prom, but fails miserably.

Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020) *

Except for a single scene that inspired the title, it's a conventional drama way too timid for its subject matter. A weak and unconvincing performance from the lead actress, who seems capable of just a single facial expression of sulkiness, doesn't help neither.
