Take The Money And Run (1969) ***
Woody Allen's second film is a witty mockumentary about a bank robber. Let's call it a mildly appetizing hint of the glories to come.
Blood Of The Condor (1969) ***
A very surprising political drama from Bolivia. Very left-wing and anti-American, the film was made under the government of René Barrientos, who only two years earlier hunted and murdered Che Guevara. In this film, it's the American social workers who are hunted and castrated by local peasants for secretly sterilising their women. It's a bit heavy-handed, but impressively directed.
