La Voce della luna (1990) *

Federico Fellini's last film and possibly his worst.

Intervista (1987) ****

July 7, 1986

Ginger e Fred (1986) ***

Uneven, but memorable film directed by Federico Fellini. There are many magical moments when Julieta is dancing with Marcelo.

Fellini's Roma (1972) ***

The Clowns (1970) *

June 19, 1970

Fellini's Satyricon (1969) ***

June 18, 1970

Spirits Of The Dead (1968) ***

Very uneven omnibus feature consisting of three shorts adapted from Edgar Allan Poe's stories. Roger Vadim's episode starring Jane Fonda is extremely disappointing. But Louis Malle's segment starring Alain Delon and Brigitte Bardot is excellent (and very sexy). And Fellini's segment is a cinematic tour de force, one of the highlights of his career. Segments:

"Metzengerstein" (Roger Vadim)  *
"William Wilson" (Louis Malle)  ***
"Toby Dammit" (Federico Fellini)  ****

June 16, 1970

Juliet Of The Spirits (1966) ***

Beautiful cinematography and art direction compensate for occassional pretentiousness of this film by Federico Fellini.

June 13, 1970

8 1/2 (1963) *****

Federico Fellini's most flamboyant and visually impressive film.

June 12, 1970

Boccaccio '70 (1962) ***

Segments:

"Renzo e Luciana" (Mario Monicelli)  ***
"Le Tentazioni del Dottor Antonio" (Federico Fellini)  ****
"Il Lavoro" (Luchino Visconti)  ***
"La Riffa" (Vittorio De Sica)  **

June 10, 1970

La Dolce Vita (1960) ****

May 17, 1970

Nights Of Cabiria (1957) ***

Federico Fellini's film about an Italian prostitute.

May 15, 1970

Il Bidone (1955) ***

Probably Federico Fellini's most conventional film, but extremely well-made.

May 14, 1970

La Strada (1954) ****

Federico Fellini's most powerful drama, less stylistically accomplished than many of his later films, but more emotionally disturbing.
