Le crime est notre affaire (2008) **
A French adaptation of Agatha Christie's "4:50 from Paddington", already filmed in 1961 as "Murder She Said". The main difference here is that instead of Miss Marple, the case is investigated by a ditzy wife of a police colonel.
Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis (2008) **
Often funny comedy about a postmaster from the south of France who is forced to accept a job in the far north of the country, where people speak with a very funny accent. The biggest box office hit of the year in France.
Sagan (2008) **
Paris (2008) **
Uneven French film by Cedric Klapisch. "Altmanesque" in structure, it follows the destinies of several characters whose paths intersect from time to time. Best of all is a gently ironic story of a respected historian (Fabrice Luchini) who falls in love with one of his students. Unfortunately, the other stories are nowhere near as clever or interesting.
Passe Passe (2008) *
La Crème (2008) *
A magical cream allows an ordinary man to appear as a celebrity in the eyes of all around him. A one-joke idea stretched into a feature.
Il y a longtemps que je t'aime (2008) **
Traditional melodrama about two sisters reuniting after a long separation.
Le Premier jour du reste de ta vie (2008) **
