Les Forgerons (1895) *

Blacksmiths at work. This short film by Louis Lumière was the fifth motion picture ever shown to a paying audience, at Le Salon Indien du Grand Café in Paris on December 28, 1895, where the Lumière brothers hosted the very first public screening of their works. Very tedious, one of the weakest films shown that day. And it's actually a remake of a 1893 Edison short, "Blacksmith Scene", directed by William K.L.Dickson.
