Screwball Squirrel (1944) ****

A fast and hilarious Tex Avery's masterpiece starring Screwy Squirrel, who becomes the hero of the story after beating the living daylights out of the cute, little Sammy Squirrel and stealing his leading role. The film is full of brechtian distanciation devices, used here as clever gags. The story deals with Screwy tormenting a poor dog who stupidly insists on chasing him.
