Peppermint frappé (1967) ***

This film is best known for being withdrawn from competition at the Cannes festival in 1968 by its director, Carlos Saura (who actually hang onto the curtains to prevent them from going up). As for the film, it's actually a completely apolitical study in obsession, equally inspired by Hitchcock's "Vertigo" and Luis Bunuel's movies.
