A House Of Dynamite (2025) ***
Way better than "Fail Safe" (1964), but nowhere near as good as "Dr Strangelove" (1964). A tense, edge-of-your-seat thriller with an ending that is both perfect and infuriating.

Paul Thomas Anderson's masterpiece. Incredibly entertaining. Superbly directed. Visually stunning. Profound, mesmerizing and provocative.

Materialists (2025) ***
Excellent romantic comedy directed by Celine Song ("Past Lives"). Intelligent, surprising and sophisticated.
K-Pop Demon Hunters (2025) ***
Terrific animated film directed by Maggie Khan and Chris Appelhans. A wild mix of showbiz musical, supernatural horror flick, action film extravaganza and wise-ass buddy comedy.

Deux femmes en or (2025) ***
Excellent Canadian film about two attractive housewives and their raging libidos. A clever and unapologetic look at female sexuality.

The Studio (2025) ***
A hilarious Apple series about a Hollywood studio. The best Tinseltown satire since "The Player" (1992).
Bill Burr: Drop Dead Years (2025) ***
Bill Burr offers hilarious, outrageous, brutal and unexpected takes on everything from Gaza to Ku Klux Klan to Black Lives Matter.
Aka Charlie Sheen (2025) ***
A Netflix documentary series in two parts. A fascinating look at the quintessential Hollywood "bad boy".
The Last Of Us: Season 2 (2025) ***
The dynamic of the series shifts dramatically with the arrival of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) who literally eliminates the competition in one of the most shocking twists ever.
Asura (2025) **
Japanese Netflix series directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda ("Shoplifters", "Monster"). It's a story of four sisters who discover that their father has an affair with a younger woman.

Heart Eyes (2025) **
Very effective slasher pic with convincing performances, clever touches of humour and plenty of thrills and suspense. But it's also quite predictable.

Mickey 17 (2025) *
Atrocious science-fiction flick set in a human colony on a distant planet. It's hard to believe that Ho Bong-Joon, who made such a great masterpiece as "Parasite" (2019), could stumble so badly with his very next project.
