The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) **

Alfred Hitchcock's remake of his 1934 classic isn't as taut and exciting as the original.

The Trouble With Harry (1955) *

There are many troubles with Harry. For one, he's dead. And nobody knows how to dispose of his body. He's buried and dug up several times. There are also many troubles with the film. It's a black comedy, but the pace is too slow. Acting is stiff (like a corpse...). It's one of Hitchcock's least impressive efforts.

Dial M For Murder (1954) ***

A typical Alfred Hitchcock's suspense film.

Rear Window (1954) *****

Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece and that's saying something. Photographer James Stewart, forced to stay in his appartment because of a broken leg, begins to suspect that one of his neighbours is a murderer. Suspenseful, exciting and superbly directed. The whole film is set in the photographer's appartment.

Drame d’Alfred Hitchcock.

Strangers On A Train (1951) ****

Classic Hitchcock's thriller about a murder pact.

May 10, 1970

Stage Fright (1950) ***

A whodunit directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Relying more on mystery than on suspense, it's closer in spirit to Agatha Christie's novels than to the Master's other films.

April 18, 1970

Rope (1948) ***

Shot in continuous takes, this Hitchcock's film, inspired by the Leopold and Loew's case, is more impressive as a stylistic tour-de-force than a suspense thriller.

April 17, 1970

The Paradine Case (1947) ***

A courtroom drama directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

April 16, 1970

Notorious (1946) ****

Memorable Hitchcock's thriller starring Ingrid Bergman as a daughter of a Nazi traitor, who becomes a spy for the Americans in Buenos Aires.

April 15, 1970

Spellbound (1945) **

Hitchcock meets Freud and the results aren't pretty.

April 13, 1970

Shadow Of A Doubt (1943) ****

One of Hitchcock's finest psychological thrillers, set in an idyllic community of Santa Rosa, California.

April 12, 1970

Saboteur (1942) ***

Fine thriller about Nazi spies in America.

April 11, 1970

Suspicion (1941) ***

Infamous Hitchcock thriller, in which the original ending was radically changed to prevent Cary Grant from playing a villain.
