Eros (2004) ***
Three very different views of eroticism by three very different filmmakers. Wong Kar-Wai's vision is all cerebral and completely chaste, with hardly any nudity. It's eroticism as an intellectual concept, where the main erogenous zone is the brain and the imagination. Antonioni's vision is purely voyeuristic, with full frontal nudity and the sight as the principal erotic sense. And Soderbergh's vision is a sort of a compromise between the two, with a hefty dose of verbal exchanges dominating the film.
Segments:
"The Hand" (Wong Kar-Wai) ***
"Equilibrium" (Steven Soderbergh) ***
"The Dangerous Thread Of Things" (Michelangelo Antonioni) *****
