Gainsbourg might be 29 year old, but she still looks like a teenager, making this confusing Lolita story both credible and unsettling. Don’t expect anything hot or steamy, however, as this is basically a tragic tale of cruelty, obsession, deception and madness. Very depressing. Directed by Bruno Nuytten.
