Miss Sloane (2016) **
Political drama starring Jessica Chastain as a hard-boiled lobbyist trying to pass a gun-control legislation.
Rules Don't Apply (2016) **
Another film about Howard Hughes, but nowhere nearly as good as "Melvin And Howard" or "The Aviator".
The Prison In Twelve Landscapes (2016) **
A film about the prison and its life in the American landscape: from a California mountainside where female prisoners fight raging wildfires, to a Bronx warehouse full of goods destined for the state correctional system, to an Appalachian coal town betting its future on the promise of prison jobs.
Jean Of The Joneses (2016) **
The lives of 25-year-old Jean Jones and her multi-generational, middle-class Jamaican-American family of strong-minded, stubborn yet loving women, come to an arresting stop when an estranged grandfather dies on the doorstep of the family’s brownstone. Tensions rise and old conflicts come to a boil as Jean uncovers the family’s buried secrets.
Gods Of Egypt (2016) **
Moderately entertaining action movie about Egyptian gods battling it out to control the world. As good a lesson in Egyptian mythology as Disney's "Hecules" was in Greek mythology, but otherwise a routine effort.
