Lost Souls (2000) *

Directed by Janusz Kaminski. With Winona Ryder, Ben Chaplin and Philip Baker Hall. A ridiculous “devil-is-among-us” supernatural thriller that makes us appreciate "The End of Days" for coherence, and "Bless The Child" for artistic quality. Ryder (looking like a nun with too much makeup) plays a former exorcism patient who tries to prevent Satan from taking another human form. It’s all very tedious and devoid of any tension. Hopefully, Spielberg’s favorite cinematographer hasn’t quit his day job yet.
