Zonzon (2000) *

French film directed by Laurent Bouhnik, with Pascal Greggory, Gael Morel and James Debbouze. A depressing prison drama: violent, pointless, unexciting and full of the most stereotypical characters. Stylistically, it's one big mess. The camera just pans and travels back and forth for no apparent reason. There are complex flashbacks (probably to make a stale story seem more fresh). The editing is flashy, but profoundly unnerving. And as for the story...the less said the better.
