Cavalcade (1933) *

Very dated drama about the decline of the British Empire (from the Boer War to the Jazz Age). A naively moralistic and boring film that undeservedly won an Oscar for best picture over such classics like "Forty-Second Street" and "She Done Him Wrong". Its montage sequences are particularly pretentious.
