Bugonia (2025) ***
A crazed conspiracy theorist (Jesse Plemons) kidnaps a CEO of a pharmaceutical company (Emma Stone) and accuses her of being an alien from Outer Space.
Avatar: Fire And Ash (2025) ***
There is a growing sense of "deja vu" in this third instatement of the popular sci-fi saga, but the action scenes are still top-notch.
Blue Moon (2025) ***
The life of Cole Porter, first told in "Night And Day" (1946), got a necessary correction in "De-Lovely" (2004), filling in the blanks concerning the great songwriter's homosexuality. Now, the life of Lorenz Hart, first told in "Words And Music" (1948), gets a similar correction in this fascinating film directed by Richard Linklater.
The Lost Bus (2025) ***
Based on a true story, an exciting film about a school bus caught in the middle of a forest fire ravaging a small California town.
Frankenstein (2025) ***
Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of the famous horror novel is uneven, but visually stunning. Set direction and cinematography are flawless. However, it's much too long, and a bit slow, especially in the second act.
Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025) ***
The dinosaurs are awesome, and the actors are great. The scenery is fantastic as well. And yes, it is predictable.
K-Pop Demon Hunters (2025) ***
Terrific animated film directed by Maggie Khan and Chris Appelhans. A wild mix of showbiz musical, supernatural horror flick, action film extravaganza and wise-ass buddy comedy.
After The Hunt (2025) ***
Complex and ambiguous film about cancel culture and victimhood. Its radical determination to explore every possible shade of grey is definitely impressive, even if it's often maddeningly unclear what exactly has happened in this film, and what real-life events have inspired it.

Trois amies (2025) ***
An excellent French comedy of manners, about three female friends with differing philosophies about romantic relationships.
L'Inconnu de la Grande Arche (2025) **
French drama about Otto von Spreckelsen, an architecture teacher from Copenhagen who designed l'Arche de la Défense in Paris.
Chien 51 (2025) ***
A dystopian action thriller from France. Fairly conventional, but far superior to similar Hollywood products, because it focuses more on characters and their psychological motivations, and far less on fireworks and explosions.
Arco (2025) **
French animated film directed by Ugo Bienvenu and Gilles Cazaux. A cross between Miyazaki and "E.T.", quite compelling, but not particularly original.

Primera Parte Cantar Segunda Parte Desnuda (2025) ***
A making off documentary about the filming of Gonzalo García Pelayo's "Cantar desnuda" (2025). Directed by Leandro Zerbatto.
The Ugly Stepsister (2025) ***
A very twisted adaptation of "Cinderella", told from the point of view of one of the ugly stepsisters, but otherwise quite faithful to the source material, except for all those gory details.
Mr Nobody Against Putin (2025) ***
A fascinating portrait of the Russian society during its conflict with Ukraine. Set in a small town in the Ural Mountains and filmed by an ordinary high school teacher, who then fled the country with the footage.
No Other Choice (2025) ***
Clearly inspired by "Parasite" (2019), a weird South Korean social satire about a man desperately looking for a job and trying to eliminate his competition.
The Sun Rises On Us All (2025) ***
Xin Zhilei won a Volpi Cup for best actress at the Venice Film Festival for her excellent performance in this memorable Chinese drama.
Cutting Through Rocks (2025) ***
Fascinating documentary about a female councillor in an Iranian village, who challenges tradition by teaching girls to ride motorcycles and fighting against child marriage.

The Things You Kill (2025) ***
An excellent film about a son who wants to kill his father. A coproduction between France, Poland, Canada and Turkey, shot in Turkey, with Turkish actors speaking Turkish. Submitted by Canada for the Oscars. But the film's director is Iranian.
Dangerous Animals (2025) ***
"Friday The 13th" meets "Jaws" in this scary Australian slasher horror flick about a gruesome psychopath who feeds his victims to the sharks.
