Fawlty Towers 1 (1975) ****

The best British TV comedy series of all times, starring John Cleese as Basil Fawlty, a bumbling owner of a small seaside hotel and Prunella Scales as his even-headed wife, Sybil.

In the first segment, Basil tries to upgrade the standards of his establishment. But then, Sybil leaves Basil in charge of some minor rebuilding and the hotel almost collapses. The third episode has major mayhem among wedding guests. The next two segments have Basil battling hotel inspectors and food critics. And finally, German guests arrive, only to be insulted by Basil who insists on talking about the war.
