Warclouds In The Pacific (1941) *
A Canadian propaganda film that was proven both right and wrong immediately upon its release in December 1941. Right, because it warned of an imminent Japanese attack. Wrong, because it described Pearl Harbour as "the Gibraltar of the Pacific" and "the World's most powerful fortress". But by the time the film was released in United States on December 24, 1941, nobody would describe Pearl Harbour in such a way, making the film completely obsolete. Still, it was nominated for an Oscar as best documentary.
