Three Little Girls In Blue (1946) ***

A remake of "Moon Over Miami", with different songs and weaker cast. A farmer's daughter (June Haver replacing Betty Grable), helped by her two sisters, tries to find a rich husband in a resort town (Atlantic City instead of Miami). She meets a ideal candidate, but falls in love with his poorer friend instead. Celeste Holm (her debut) steals the movie as the rich guy's sister. In any other film, she would be a villainess, but since this is a musical, she's actually very sympatetic. Musical numbers include:

"Three Little Girls In Blue" **
"On The Boardwalk In Atlantic City" **
"Oh My Love" *
"I Like Mike" *
"Somewhere In The Night" *
"If You Can't Get A Girl In The Summertime" *
"You Make Me Feel So Young" **
"Always A Lady" **
