Shuffle Off To Buffalo (1933) ***

The hit tune from the 1933 Warner Bros. musical "Forty-Second Street" enlivens this rather ordinary cartoon about little babies waiting for storks to carry them off to their parents. The idea of babies being "manufactured" by elves (working on an assembly line) is more bizarre than amusing, but the film certainly has an unusual setting.
