The Wise Little Hen (1934) ***

Very nice musical score enhances this gentle tale about a hen looking for help in planting and harvesting her corn. Donald Duck (in his first screen appearance) is among the lazy animals pretending to be sick to avoid the work. A clever, ironic ending has Donald receiving a bottle of castor oil for his supposedly aching stomach.
