Symphony Hour (1942) ****

Concert films were the staple of mid-1930's Disney repertory, so this 1942 film looks like a late bloomer. But it's still a magnificent achievement - a riotously funny cartoon about Goofy accidentely damaging the band's instruments, forcing Mickey and his orchestra to improvise a weirdly sounding, but curiously modern concert, which becomes a resounding success on the radio.
