Desire (1936) ***

Very entertaining comedy about a naive American tourist (Gary Cooper) falling in love with a gorgeous jewel thief (Marlene Dietrich). From its brilliant (and often imitated) opening scene to the end, the film bears an inmistakable, sophisticated touch of its producer, Ernst Lubitsch.
