A Rainy Day (1940) ****

The Bear Family house is crumbling, but lazy Papa Bear is reluctant to repair the leaky roof. Funniest of all is Mama Bear, always humming some nonsense tune (like "piter pater" or "la la la la"). The most spectacular scene takes place on the roof during a violent rainstorm, with shingles moving like huge ocean waves and thunders hitting Papa Bear (turning him into a living lightbulb). This climactic sequence can withstand comparisons with the best works by Walt Disney.
